Person Centred Emergency Preparedness
(P-CEP)

House Fire, Landslide, Flood, Power Outage, Bushfire, Storm, Pandemic or Heatwave – Are you ready  for your next emergency?

What is Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness?

Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) guides the community and its people through conversation to prepare for emergencies.  You are supported to self-assess risk, your preparedness & support needs in emergency situations.  Together we’ll develop formal emergency preparedness plans tailored to individual capabilities and needs with the aim to optimise your self-reliance and forward plan your reliance on others.

Why talk to us?

Peppercorn P-CEP Facilitators have been trained by the University of Sydney to offer opportunities for people that are in their senior years and people living with a disability, who live in the Hawkesbury or the Blue Mountains Local Government Areas, to have a conversation and work out the areas in which they would like to plan, to be better prepared.

The facilitator guides you through:

  • Identifying your strengths and support needs in everyday life
  • Know your level of emergency preparedness and learn about your disaster risks
  • Plan for how you will manage your support needs in an emergency
  • Communicate the plan with the people in your support network and address gaps through collaboration

It is a free service and only requires you to make contact, we can meet with you at a place and time that suits you.
